Double Planet, Ltd. Co. has been presenting two Open Mic Nights per month in order to encourage the culture of live music in our young potential artists on the local scene.
This is a family-friendly, supportive group of people with more experienced players there to share and uplift the younger players, and help to accommodate them to develop a love and comfort performing on a stage in front of a live audience.
We do these Open Mic Nights at various locations in the community. So far we have been doing two per month. We do the first Friday of every month at the Promenade of the Arts, in Mountain City, next to the Dollar General store. We also have been doing the third Thursday of each month at Chattooga River Resort and Campground, over the South Carolina line in Long Creek.
We offer huge thanks to the owners and operators of these two wonderful venues in and around Rabun County, our home music scene… Thanks for nurturing tomorrows players and providers of live music by providing an outlet for them… We hope you be many happy returns from your efforts in nurturing the music scene!!!
Bring your guitar, fiddle, drums, whatever … Play us a few songs. Or come listen to some of the crazy-good talent we have around here! It’ll knock your socks off, I assure you!
